Ward 1/8 Neighborhood Planning Association

Past event
May 8, 2019, 7 to 9 PM

Hello all,

The Ward 1/8 Neighborhood Planning Association will be meeting on Wednesday, May 8th.

There'll be a pre-meeting tour of the new wing of the UVM Medical Center. Those interested should meet in the UVMMC McClure Lobby at 6:00 PM.

As is becoming traditional, refreshments will be served to start at 6:45. Then we'll jump into an especially packed and interesting agenda. Here are some highlights:

We'll discuss the Neighborhood Project – the goal of which is to identify strategies and tools for neighborhood stabilization efforts, increase the diversity of housing choices in near-campus neighborhoods, improve the quality of housing stock and improve residents' quality of life. On Monday, the City Council referred this report to the Community Development and Neighborhood Revitalization (CDNR) Committee to discuss which recommendations to prioritize. These meetings are not scheduled yet, but I'll be sure to communicate the dates once they are set. You can learn more about the project here: https://www.burlingtonvt.gov/CEDO/The-Neighborhood-Project

We'll also hear presentations on two proposed development projects under consideration:
1. A Proposed 57-unit, 3-4 story Apartment Project at 110 Riverside Ave
2. A Proposed 142 Room Hotel with 77 parking spaces at the soon to be former YMCA property

For a full agenda and plans for the proposed hotel, please visit the NPA website: https://www.burlingtonvt.gov/CEDO/Ward-1-NPA-Agendas

As always, reach out to me directly if you'd like to discuss any of these or any other City issues.
Adam
