The Physiology of Fear
May 8
6:30-8:30 pm
Ideas studio (adjacent to Northfield savings bank, waitsfield)

Fear is an innate response inherent in each and everyone one of us. It is the underlying cause of many of our emotional states and it can change the way we act, hear, see and feel.

Through the lens of Chinese Medicine, this informative lecture will help people understand fear and the role the kidneys play in our fear. We will obtain an understanding of the inner relationships between the kidneys (water element) and the emotions associated with the elements of earth, fire, metal and wood.

The goal of the lecture will be for us to have a better grasp on what it is that we fear and how to overcome such fear through the understanding of these relationships between the elements. As such, we can live our lives more freely through the embracing of fear rather than the reaction to fear, which is often anxiety, anger and/or sadness.

This lecture is open to the general public. You must RSVP in advance as space is limited. Open to all ages, though the material may be difficult to understand for anyone not yet in high school. Please RSVP by calling Akhil at 802-496-6600 or emailing akhilkaplan@gmail.com. The cost is $30 per person in advance or $35 on the day of the lecture.
