Over the past year, South Hero Land Trust has been working with Folsom parents, teachers, and students to revitalize the public trail at the South Hero Recreation Park. Together we've repaired the outdoor classroom at the pond, installed interactive learning stations along the trail, re-energized the community gardens, and more.
Now, there are 8 unique stops along the trail, ranging from a music wall to a wildlife learning station created by the 7th and 8th grade classes at Folsom. Each station has hands-on activities to get you active and learning on the land. Come out and enjoy the new trail features at our grand opening on May 4th! Happening the same time and place as the Green Up Day Thank You BBQ, we will have ongoing activities and games at the trailhead, guided tours at 11:30 and 12:15, and self-guided tours throughout.
Come join us on Saturday, May 4th between 11:00 AM and 1:30 PM behind the Folsom Education and Community Center.
Many thanks to the Recreation Commission for partnering with us and making this project possible. We also received grant funding from the Lake Champlain Basin Program, RISE VT, and the OGE Charitable Fund.
