WRED Vote

Past event
Apr 30, 2019

The West River Education District, comprised of the towns of Townshend, Newfane, Jamaica, Brookline, with representation from Windham, have set a date of Tuesday, April 30, 2019 for the re-vote on the proposed school budget for Grades 7 to 12. Last month, at the vote held on March 26, voters approved the first part of the school budget for the district for Grades Pre-K through 6. The second part of the proposed budget for the upper grades was voted down and therefore required a re-vote. Fewer than 10% of the registered voters in the district cast a ballot last time, and the board is now emphasizing to citizens that this re-vote, even though it is only for part of the overall funding for the newly unified district, will impact students in Townshend, Newfane, Jamaica, and Windham.

On April 30th, the polls open in the morning at the following times: Townshend at 10 a.m.; Newfane at 9 a.m.; Jamaica at 10 a.m.; Brookline at 9 a.m.; and Windham at 10 a.m. All polls are all staying open until 7 p.m.
