Green Up Day

Past event
May 4, 2019, 9 AM to 5 PM

Saturday, May 4th is Green Up Day. The Duxbury Land Trust, which coordinates Duxbury's Green Up, is
hosting a kick-off starting at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday in the Municipal meeting room in the Town Garage. Stop in, meet us, and enjoy treats from members of the Duxbury Historical Society. Pick up Green Up bags and let us know where you will be working. The room will be open until 5:00 p.m. for the convenience of volunteers. Cold drinks and snacks will be available in the afternoon. Before Saturday, bags will be available at the Town Clerk's office and in the black mailbox outside the office after hours.

Bring filled bags to the Town Garage or the turnoff on River Road in front of the railroad gate (from Camels Hump Rd, go past the road to Bolton dam—the turnoff is on the left). If you need assistance transporting bags or large items, please
contact Audrey Quackenbush. Please remember: Only roadside trash is acceptable: no household trash or furniture, hazardous materials, electronics, or personal tires. Volunteers are discouraged from working on Route 100 because
of the danger and this state highway is normally cleaned by VTRANS.

Use common sense precautions: dress appropriately for working in muddy and wet conditions; protect yourself against
ticks; and avoid touching any hazardous material, including drug paraphernalia.

Why not get a team together to work on your road? It's more fun to work with someone and know you are doing
a community service at the same time.

Hope to see you on Saturday!
