BUS TOUR TO WOODSTOCK & SAINT-GAUDENS
Register today to join Burlington Garden Club Bus Tour on June 13
Please join members of the Burlington Garden Club on a wonderful bus trip on Thursday, June 13 from 8am to 5pm to support the many community projects of the nonprofit club.
What a day we will have! We have a comfortable 54-seat premier, air-conditioned bus.
First we go to Woodstock, where we learn the inspiring history of the leading figures in restoring and conserving Vermont lands.
• Guided tour of the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller Mansion, an 1805 architectural gem, filled with American landscape paintings by Cole, Bierstadt, Durand, and others.
• Stroll through flower gardens, rock gardens, a cutting garden, and more
• Visit Billings Farm, a fully operational dairy farm, as well as a museum of the history of dairy farming in Vermont, an 1890 Farm House, a self-guided tour of the farm with sheep, chickens, draft horses, and oxen. Stop by the Dairy Bar for fresh ice cream.
• Please Note: some grounds are uneven. Wear appropriate shoes. The Club is not liable for accidents.
Then on to Cornish, NH to Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site.
• Guided tour of the gardens and outdoor sculpture park of Augustus Saint-Gaudens, one of America's foremost 19th century sculptors.
• Over 70 original works and reproductions of his most famous works, including the massive "Standing Lincoln"
• Self-guided small group tours available for the first floor of the home
