Gain the knowledge and confidence to craft a plan that meets your needs, while leaving a legacy to the people and things you care about.
Everyone has an estate. It's what you own: your home, your car, your accounts, your possessions. Having an estate plan is about knowing what matters to you and making sure your wishes are carried out after you're gone.
Women, on average, live longer than men, and widows often have control over a couple's combined assets. We need plans that ensure our independence as we age, while leaving a legacy to the people and things we care about.
Last year, more than 40 women came to two estate planning workshops for women organized by VLT. Our expert panel gave examples, shared stories, and answered questions—all with generous doses of humor. Here's what participants said:
"This has definitely moved me forward in my financial planning."
"I can't think how you could make it any better."
"I appreciated the energy and comfort of being with women."
"So much good information, and fun to boot!"
At the workshop, we'll address questions such as: What is the very first step to getting my affairs in order? What happens if I don't have a will? What are the tax implications of various approaches? We'll cover retirement income, taxes, asset protection, charitable giving, life insurance, trusts, long-term care, and advance directives.
