We all appreciate that Vermont is unique in many ways but one point of uniqueness you may not be aware of is our libraries. Vermont has the most public libraries per capita than any state in the United States and this doesn't count the "Little Libraries" you see around town in front of homes. Jessamyn West is a librarian who has made it her goal to visit all 183 of them. She will be presenting photos and stories from her visits to the April 25, 2019 Osher Lifelong Learning session. Learn some facts and figures about our literate state as well.

We are pleased to have Jessamyn West join us from Randolph, VT. Jessamyn is a consultant, researcher and international public speaker on library science and digital divide issues. She is the author of a 2011 book "Without a Net: Librarians Bridging the Digital Divide" which explores the challenges of a society becoming stratified by computer skills as well aa well as race and income inequality.

Come meet Jessamyn at Catamount Arts on Eastern Ave in St Johnsbury at 1:30 pm, April 25, 2019. Following her presentation there will be an opportunity to ask questions. This lecture is included for members and there is a $6 fee for the single lecture.
Homeschool students are welcome when the topic is of interest.

Catamount maintains a library of past OLLI lectures on DVD which may be borrowed at no cost if you missed one of interest.
