Commentary by those who have attended previous screenings attest to its power and poignancy.

Senator Patrick Leahy says this about the film: "'DOWNSTREAM' paints a vivid picture of the generational impact of incarceration on Vermont's children and families. Thanks to the subjects who have agreed to share their most personal stories so that others may better understand the plight that they and others face." "The burden carried by children and other family members of those incarcerated was presented in an honest, urgent, and persuasive way," stated Vermont Lt. Governor David Zuckerman.

Tanya Searles, a mental health counselor in Hyde Park, shared this comment: "The compassion and empathy with which you were able to tell those stories was moving. People who see this film will be changed." The screening is free and open to the public.
