Roadside Ash Tree Survey Training

Past event
May 11, 2019, 1 to 4 PM

Come to the Four Corners Schoolhouse on May 11 at 1:00 to learn about identifying and surveying ash trees along our town roadsides. The training will last about 3 hours, led by Joanne Garton with the Department of Forests, Parks, and Recreation. In addition to learning about ash trees and the Emerald Ash Borer, you'll learn how to enter data about ash trees into a state data base. We'll help you download a program onto your phones or iPads so you can mark where ash trees are along roads. We will have a few iPads available for those who don't have any electronic devices. You will be able to work in teams and choose sections of roads you'd like to inventory. Part of the training outdoors. There will be refreshments to keep you going through the afternoon. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN PARTICIPATING.

The data will help us develop a plan for managing roadside ash trees and preventing problems when the EAB comes into our community.
