ABOUT THE FILM:

When today's stories of crushing greed and endless growth have come to an end, what, then, will be the new stories?

Dancing with the Cannibal Giant follows the stories of five groups of people and places, where big ideas are unfolding. This is a film about moving beyond disempowerment, in order to enact real change in a changing world.

After seeing the documentary film, The Wisdom to Survive: Climate Change, Capitalism, and Community, Chris Wood of BALE (Building A Local Economy) was inspired to create a film that would answer the question: "Will we have the wisdom to survive climate chaos and planetary destruction?" Dancing With the Cannibal Giant offers five stories that answer this very question, and invites its viewers to ask themselves, what am I doing and what are we doing together, to put the giant back to sleep?
