Hinesburg Town Forest History Night will be a night of storytelling, discussion, and education with panelists that include Michael Snyder, Commissioner of VT Department of Forest, Parks, and Recreation and former Chittenden County Forester, David Brynn, Executive Director Vermont Family Forests, Bill Torrey, logger who harvested timber on Hinesburg Town Forest for decades, author and renowned story teller, and Jean Miner, Hinesburg Historical Society, with Ethan Tapper, Chittenden County Forester, as the moderator. The 864-acre municipal forest, owned and managed by the Town since the 1940's, is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Whether or not you've visited the Town Forest the evening will be great opportunity to hear about both the cultural and natural history of this valuable community asset.
