Dinner and Discussion Hosted by the Co-Op

Hunger Mountain Co-op invites co-op members to join us on Thursday, April 25, for a free dinner and discussion focused on local food, including the opportunities for strengthening and supporting our local food system.The event will be held at the Montpelier Senior Activity Center, located at 58 Barre Street in Montpelier, and will be from 5:30-8pm. Doors will open at 5:15. Dinner will be provided by the Co-op starting at 5:30.

From 6:30-7:30, there will be a panel discussion centered on the local food theme and including Jake Claro, Farm to Plate Director at the Vermont Sustainable Jobs Fund, Olivia Dunton, Hunger Mountain Co-op's Lead Grocery Buyer, and Jason Elberson, co-owner of Sobremesa, a local vendor based in Marshfield, making excellent fermented foods which they will be sampling during the event.

The panel discussion will include topics such as the priorities for strengthening our local food system, what shoppers at the Co-op can do to support those priorities, and what exciting prospects are on the horizon. The panelists will also take questions from the audience.

Following the panel discussion, there will be a question and answer session with the co-op's council, providing the opportunity to find out more about the inner workings of the council and your co-op. Please RSVP by Monday, April 22, by emailing info@hungermountain.coop or by calling 802-262-3202.
