Soup to Nuts: an Eccentric History of Food

We hope you will join us this Wednesday, when the New Haven Community Library welcomes back Vermont Humanities Council Speaker, Dr. Rebecca Rupp. Knowledgeable and witty, Dr. Rupp invites you to learn more about the history behind what and how we eat, encompassing everything from the prehistoric mammoth luau, to the medieval banquet, to the modern three squares a day. Learn about the rocky evolution of table manners, the not-so-welcome invention of the fork, and the surprising benefits of family dinners. Plus, some catchy info on seasonal foods. Why are turkeys called turkeys? And what are sugarplums anyway? ((And much more!)
Thank you to the Friends of the New Haven Community Library for sponsoring this fun, informative lecture and to the Vermont Humanities Council for their support.
