The BT sale Intervenors will hold a public information meeting on April 17, at 6pm, in the Community Room at Fletcher Free Library, 235 College St., Burlington. They will provide an update on recent events in the fight to stop the city from giving away your telecom.
The agenda will include:
1. A summary of the Motion to Reconsider that the PUC is currently considering to amend its ruling on the BT sale.
In this motion, our attorney, Jim Dumont, laid out, in clear and powerful terms, numerous faults in the PUC order, and why its decision to allow the deal is unsupported by the evidence presented in the case. The motion lays out why the VT Supreme Court will be bound by law and precedent to overturn the PUC approval, if the PUC doesn't do it first in response to our motion.
The full motion is available at the PUC's website, in the BT case record (18-0491-PET): https://epuc.vermont.gov/?q=node/64/129400.
2. A discussion of the Mayor's deceptive campaign to make the public believe the sale is a done deal.
3. Future actions, including the PUC's next steps, and if necessary, the appeal to the Vermont Supreme Court.
