Practice Session on Interrupting Hate at UU Church

Past event
Apr 10, 2019

When was the last time you overheard someone make a xenophobic comment or a racist joke? Did you feel prepared to respond in the moment? If so, how did it go? Want more practice? Most people -- especially those of us who are white people -- really could benefit from practice, practice, practice.

You are invited to join us:
Practice Session on Interrupting Hate and Addressing Unintended Bias
Wed. April 10, 6-8pm
Vestry (lower level & accessible) space, Unitarian Church of Montpelier, 130 Main St.

It's a fantastic workshop with well trained facilitators from Central Vermont's Showing Up for Racial Justice. And pizza and lite refreshments provided! Visit the FB event page here, and please share with friends: https://www.facebook.com/events/353317052075888/ All are welcome.

"I've learned that when it comes to race, there's no such thing as neutral: either I'm intentionally and strategically working against it, or I'm aiding and abetting the system." ― Debby Irving, Waking Up White: and Finding Myself in the Story of Race.

A collaborative effort between the Unitarian Church of Montpelier and Central VT Showing Up for Racial Justice.
