Do your part for clean water, get some great exercise, connect with friends, and experience some inspiring scenery in Vermont and New York at our annual Switchback Bike for the Lake event!
This year, we are featuring a century ride, as well as loops of 80, 60, and 30 miles along the shores of beautiful Lake Champlain.
Funds raised from this event will support the work of Friends of Northern Lake Champlain on projects to prevent nutrient pollution and ensure that we will continue to enjoy this natural treasure for many generations to come.
Lamoille Loop 1 of the RideLamoille Watershed Loop 1 - The 30-mile loop heads south along the west shore of South Hero. There will be a break stop at White's Beach for refreshments. The return trip is via the east shore of Grand Isle.
Missisquoi Loop 2 of the RideMissisquoi Loop 2 - Start the 60-mile loop by turning south out of Knight Point State Park to the Grand Isle ferry landing. Take your break while crossing over to New York on the ferry. After exiting the ferry, follow the shoreline up to Rouses Point. Cross the bridge over Lake Champlain from New York back to Vermont at the northernmost point. The route then follows the west shore of Alburg back to Knight Point Park via Route 2 through the beautiful village of North Hero.
The Islands Loop 3 of the RideThe Islands Loop 3 - Everything from Loop 2 plus an additional 20 miles making this an ambitious and spectacular 80-mile loop. The additional miles cover the quiet back roads of Alburg, and Isle Lamotte with a rest stop at St. Anne's Shrine.
Lake Champlain Loop 4 of the RideLake Champlain Loop 4 - The century ride includes everything from the 80-mile loop and an additional 20-mile loop around the town of Grand Isle that can be ridden before or after the 80-mile loop.
Registration DetailsEarly registration is $65 per rider until June 9th, after that date, you'll need to register on the day of the event and the price increases to $75 per rider.
