Waterbury Historical Society Meeting
The Waterbury Historical Society will hold it's annual business meeting and election of officers on Wednesday, April 24, at 7pm in the Steele Community Room at the Waterbury Municipal Building , 28 N. Main St. The public is welcome to attend.
Local historian Brian Lindner will present a program on railroad wrecks. The railroad has been a critical park of Waterbury's history since 1849, when tracks were first laid. Over the decades, there have been many wrecks, ranging from the simple to the spectacular. This presentation will cover a general history of those wrecks and will be illustrated with photographs that have been years to locate.
Did you know there was once a fatal train accident on Lincoln Street and a head-on train wreck in Stowe? These stories and many more will be included. Info 244-8089 See you April 24th.
