How to Grow Roses - Saturday, April 6, 10 am - 12 noon
Lifelong rose enthusiast Kristine Struminsky will share fundamentals about the different types and classifications of roses, as well as proper selection, planting and maintenance. If you're frustrated with growing roses, you'll learn some tips to help eliminate that frustration. If you're new to growing roses, you'll leave with simple strategies, knowledge and the confidence to get started.
Kristine has grown roses since childhood, beginning in Rhode Island with a father who was an avid rosarian. Upon moving to Vermont, she was often advised to move elsewhere if she wished to grow roses. Instead, she has spent the past eight years experimenting and learning how to adapt to an ever-changing colder climate, and she continues to champion the ability of anyone to successfully grow the "Queen of flowers."
