Vermont Technical College Popsicle Bridge Competition

Past event

Hello,
This Thursday 4 April, Vermont Technical College will host its annual Popsicle stick bridge building competition for middle school students. The purpose of the competition is to introduce students to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) activities. Teams of students, from across Vermont, build bridges using only Popsicle sticks, Elmer's wood glue (or equivalent), toothpicks, and dental floss. The bridges are judged and then crushed by a hydraulic crusher. VTrans engineers volunteer as judges and through its outreach program VTrans is also a major sponsor of this STEM activity. Follow this link for more information and a tentative schedule:

The event is free and open to the public and held in Judd Hall on the Randolph Center campus. Please contact me if you have any questions.

Thank you.
