Invasive Species Workshop

Past event
Apr 27, 2019, 9:30 AM

On Saturday April 27th at 9:30am, join Vermont Fish and Wildlife and the CISMA for the Batten Kill Watershed (CISMA-BKW) on the Equinox Preserve in Manchester to learn about invasive plants and the threats they pose for wildlife. Over the course of a two hour gentle walk through the woods, participants will learn to identify common invasive plants as we discuss the effects of invasive plants on local insects, birds, and mammals. We will also discuss various methods of invasive plant management to prepare landowners to remove the plants from their own land as a way of protecting native plant communities and maintaining healthy habitats for wildlife.

We will meet at the Burr and Burton Academy student parking lot on West Union Street. Please wear appropriate outdoor attire. The event will be canceled with heavy rain. Please contact Elana at coordinator.cisma.bkw@gmail.com with any questions.
