1814: THE BATTLE FOR LAKE CHAMPLAIN
March 16th, 2014 @ 2p.m. ~ Free Admission
The War of 1812 is still the subject of much dispute. Historians have been unable to agree on the victor. The war was incredibly unpopular in many regions of the country, and is often overlooked by British Historians in the wake of the much larger Napoleonic wars. However this conflict had far reaching implications for the United States, Canada, and Great Britain. Lake Champlain was one of the key theaters of this war and the lake and it surrounding lands still bear witness to its impact. Join us on March 16th, 2014 at 2p.m. as Art Cohn, underwater archaeologist and historian from the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum presents on local events and his discoveries while exploring and cataloging.
