What is a Point of Distribution?
Local health departments work alongside others, responding to and recovering from public health emergencies such as disease outbreaks. Point of Distributions are designated locations that will host the Vermont Department of Health and the Medical Reserve Corps for distribution of medication or vaccinations to the public.
What will volunteer actors be doing during the exercise?
Volunteers will be actors in our Medication Point of Distribution (POD) Clinic Exercise. During this exercise, volunteers will be given a scenario and go through the Medication POD Clinic acting as a person requesting medication. The volunteer may need to go through the clinic more than once. The St Albans District Office is practicing our ability to get 100 people through a Medication POD Clinic in one hour.
Volunteers are needed for two hours because there will be time for instruction prior to the start of the exercise and time for feedback after the exercise.
