Gold Prospecting In Vermont Fundraising Event

Martha Canfield Library, Arlington Vermont.
All proceeds from this event go to the Arlington Lions Club.
Nothing exemplifies the American Dream more than recreational gold prospecting. Only in this hobby can a person follow their dreams of striking it rich and actually have a chance of doing so. By the sweat of your brow and the ache in your back, the gold is there for the taking. What are you waiting for; instead of watching it on T.V., join the modern recreational gold rush here in Vermont! Learn about Vermont gold rush history, gold panning techniques, the geology of gold prospecting in Vermont and how to read a river for gold locations. There will be hands on gold panning lessons following the lecture, so that everyone can learn how to pan for gold. This is a very family friendly event; kids will have a ton of fun!
The seminar will be lead by Arlington Lions Club member Nelson, who has been giving gold panning in Vermont lectures and classes for almost a decade. Lion Nelson's gold prospecting adventures have been featured in news articles in USA Today, MSNBC, Fox News, the Associated Press all over the world, the Burlington Free Press, VPR and NPR, Vermont Life,Vermont Magazine and is the contributing gold prospecting historian for the New England Mineral Museum
The Arlington Lions Club strives to improve the world within our community. Some of our humanitarian goals include; cleaning and helping maintain our environment, back to school supply drives for our local schools, collecting food items for our local food shelf, our sight and hearing program and of course our seasonal projects like "Sand Buckets for Seniors." Every donation collected stays in our local community, to help those in our community. The cost of the event is a $10.00 donation per person, $5 for age 10 and under and pre-registration is recommended, but not required.
