On Wednesday, April 3, at 7:00 pm, the Unitarian Church of Montpelier will host a program entitled "Frank and Friendly Chat About My Wife's Transition" with speaker Sparrow Alden. Sparrow married her wife, Grace, twenty-eight years ago, before same-sex marriage was legal; Grace had been assigned male at birth. They came out as a trans family in 2012 when Grace publicly transitioned her gender expression. The two remain happily married although the change required them to navigate a host of challenges. By openly sharing their personal stories, Sparrow and Grace are helping others to understand what it means to be trans and what it means to be the partner of a trans person. From 7:00 to 8:30 pm, Sparrow will be discussing her experience and responding to your questions. All are welcome.
