It's not too late to join the Introduction to Qigong six week class on Tuesday mornings from 9 am to 10 am at the Charlotte Congregational Church vestry. We have had class number one already but it is easy to get caught up as I will repeat what we did last week.
Why would you want to do qigong you may ask? If you are run down and feeling exhausted day after day, qigong replenishes your energy. If you have been feeling anxious and stressed, qigong calms your nerves and helps you focus on what you need to do. If your mind is racing all of the time with so much going on or from the constant bombardment of media, Qigong quiets your mind, giving it a break so that you can feel more connected with and present to yourself and others. If you have been struggling with illness, Qigong gets your body in the relaxed state needed for its innate healing ability to be most powerful.
How do you do Qigong? Sometimes we stand, sometimes we sit and you follow me as I talk and demonstrate easy movements that can be adapted if need be if you have any physical limitations. Really, anyone can do Qigong. Playing in the background is gentle, beautiful and calming music.
What do you need to do Qigong? Nothing! No special equipment or clothes needed, just you.
If this sounds interesting, please join me, Karen Waters, Certified Qigong leader, next Tuesday morning. Classes are $15 each and there are 5 more. Here are the dates: April 2, 9, 16, 30 and May 7.
