Please join the Wells Mountain Initiative (WMI) for a special presentation, Catalysts for Change, on our mission, volunteer opportunities and programs to assist in educating bright, but impoverished, young people in the developing world. The event will be Tuesday, April 2 from 5:30 to 7 at Northern Daughters Art Gallery, 221 Main Street in Vergennes. The special guest speaker, visiting from Uganda, will be Dr. Catherine Nagadya, a WMI Scholar who obtained her medical degree with the benefit of a scholarship from WMI. She will talk about life in Uganda and her experience as a doctor in a rural area of her country. She also founded a non-profit called Girls Unstoppable to help educate girls in her village. There will be refreshments, door prizes, but no solicitation of donations. This is a Friend-raiser, not a Fund-raiser. You even have the opportunity to view wonderful art by Cameron Davis, the gallery's current featured artist. All are welcome to this free, open community event.
