Dear Community,
This Friday March 29th from 4-6pm, the Basement Teen Center will be hosting an informal discussion group led by award-winning documentary filmmaker and theater producer Bess O'Brien, of Kingdom County Productions. Bess will be introducing her new production, the Listen Up Project, to area youth ages 12-18.
The Listen Up Project aims to highlight issues that are important to teens through a musical production that will go to the heart of current youth issues including mental health, trauma, resiliency, love, friendship, community, and issues that affect Vermont and the world.
The Listen Up Project offers a unique opportunity for collaboration among Vermont's youth. Over the next few months, teens are invited to submit works of art, original poetry and music, and share their personal experiences to be used in this production. Youth will also have an opportunity to audition or apply for specific positions in the production such as acting, singing, set design and orchestra pit next spring (2020). Bess's visit with the Basement Teen Center this Friday will be one of many similar dialogue events occurring throughout the state For more details about the Listen Up Project, please follow the link below! Youth interested in engaging in the project or who may be interested in learning more can stop by the Basement Teen Center this Friday, March 29 from 4-6pm to meet Bess and learn how they can be involved.
