Community Conversation on Transportation in NEK

Past event
Apr 8, 2019, 5:30 to 7:30 PM

Northeast Kingdom Organizing (NEKO) is putting on a Community Conversation about Transportation at Little Dippers Doodle Day Care in St. Johnsbury on April 8, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Supper and child care are provided for those who save a spot ahead of time. Carpooling will be arranged as well for those who need it. Among the topics to be discussed is drivers license restoration locally for drivers whose licenses have been suspended due mostly to lack of funds. NEKO is seeking stories of struggles people are having -- or have had -- with transportation systems, large and small.

NEKO is an organization of community organizations, with members of all walks of life and backgrounds, working together to improve systems and institutions in the Northeast Kingdom. Sponsor member groups are the Danville Congregational United Church, the Center for an Agricultural Economy, the Caledonia Grange, the East Craftsbury Presbyterian Church, the United Church of Newport, St. Mark's Episcopal Church of Newport, St. John's Episcopal Church of Hardwick, Friends of NEKO, Third Street Hood Chat, Universalist Unitarian Congregation of St. Johnsbury and Greensboro United Church.

The community conversation and dinner is free of charge. Anyone who would like to be part of it can sign up by calling Bethany Dunbar at (802) 525-3545 or e-mailing her at bethany@hardwickagriculture.org or find her on facebook Bethany M. Dunbar by April 6.
