Join Winooski Recreation and Parks at the O'Brien Community Center on Saturday, April 13th from 9AM-12 for Eco-Families of Winooski.
Kids and parents can learn eco-friendly practices with family friendly activities and informational handouts. Do you have an abundance of plastic bags you are looking to get rid of? The city is partnering with TREX Recycling Program and they have challenged us to collect 500 pounds of unwanted plastic materials. If we can collect 500 pounds of plastic bags they will make us a community bench out of the recycled materials! Not only are you helping to keep thousands of pounds of waste out of landfills, you're also helping TREX to continue to create beautiful and environmentally responsible outdoor products.
ITEMS YOU CAN BRING TO HELP US MEET OUR GOAL:
grocery bags, bread bags, case overwrap, dry cleaning bags, newspaper sleeves, ice bags, wood pellet bags, ziplock & other re-sealable bags, produce bags, bubble wrap, salt bags, and cereal bags
ALL MATERIALS MUST BE CLEAN, DRY, AND FREE OF FOOD RESIDUE
