Explore the Four-Season Greenhouse

On Saturday, March 23 at 2 p.m., explore the four-season greenhouse -- a place where a person can escape to and enjoy the sun, warmth and plants -- at Manchester Community Library. Jonathan Hescock of Vermont Victory Greenhouses will dig into the challenges and solutions for creating a four-season greenhouse for the Northeast.

Jonathan Hescock grew up in the Champlain Valley. Jonathan's grandparents owned a large greenhouse and flower business in Connecticut. Growing and gardening have always been a part of his life. In 2006, while working as a contractor, Jonathan began to really feel the effects of seasonal disorder and after visiting the neighbors commercial greenhouse decided to build a modest greenhouse to improve his mental health and just extend the enjoyment of growing during the long winter season. Soon neighbors wanted something similar and over the years Vermont Victory Greenhouses was born and has built over 40 greenhouses throughout the Northeast.

The program is free and open to the public. Manchester Community Library is located at 138 Cemetery Ave. in Manchester Center, VT. For more info, call the Library at 802-362-2607 or email events@mclvt.org.
