Ann DeMarle - Emergence: What I Know Now in Art, Technology, & Education
Wednesday, March 27, 6:00 PM
Generator FlexSpace, 40 Sears Lane

As a teenager Ann hated her typing class. Little did she know that her prophetic pursuit of her MFA in painting and computer graphics would prepare her for a life of typing and swiping (and much more). Ann will look at the dual nature of computing, the challenges it poses to education, and what's she learned creating ground breaking degree programs that merge art and technology. She'll take a deep dive into her current thinking on how we can take on the future creating both gritty individuals and innovative communities through "Connected Learning," a collaborative model between education and organizations utilizing technology, creating, and relationships. Part of the Reckless Ideas Lecture Series, featuring a diverse mix of Burlington's top thinkers and innovators at the intersection of design and science. Created in collaboration with UVM's Complex Systems Center and Champlain College's MFA in Emergent Media. Free and open to the public. Liquid libations and light snacks will be served.
