Local community historian and film scholar Rick Winston will speak on the topic “The Red Scare Comes to Bethel” as part of the central Vermont Osher Life Long Learning program.

Rick will share his research on a 1950 incident in Bethel, Vt that led Senator Joseph McCarthy to charge that “Reds infest Vermont." The program will be at the Aldrich Public Library in Barre on Wednesday, March 12 at 1:30 p.m. and is free to Osher members; $5 suggested donation for others. All are welcome.
