Intelligence is Limited ~ Stupidity is Infinite!
Welcome to the world of the Red Nose Clown where your unique stupidity is celebrated and encouraged! The root meaning of the word 'stupid' comes from Latin 'stupere' meaning 'to be amazed or stunned.'
The term clown has been thrown around in all sorts of situations - from describing politicians to horror movie characters. But what is the real essence of the Clown?
Find out in this theatrical clowning workshop where you will be guided through a body-based process and begin the discovery and unfolding of your own unique clown - exploring and excavating what is funny about You! In doing so, we will practice the art of play, discover energized presence, indulge in the pleasure of the moment, and fine tune deep listening. Delve into creativity, the unattainable concept of 'neutrality,' and through a 'movement analysis' come away with a foundation for your very own clown character. It will be a colorful journey in a safe and nurturing environment where there is freedom to risk with daring honesty. Clown is a beautiful, generous, at times challenging, and poetic art form. Nettie is committed to this celebration of our humanity as seen through the eyes of the Clown.

"If you're within striking distance of Brattleboro and have ever wanted to dip your little toe into the strange and wondrous world of clowning, instructor extraordinaire Nettie Lane is giving a one-day workshop tomorrow / Saturday the 23rd. I've been exploring this work for a while and it's amazingly therapeutic and expanding..."
"It was amazing to find myself funny to the other clowns, even though I have never thought myself funny. Nettie encouraged us to be ourselves, just make it bigger!! No masks needed. Well, only the smallest mask in the world, the clown nose."
