Kick-off Event for the Jeudevine Library Expansion Project
Help the Library Bloom! Come see the plans for the expansion at the Memorial Building on Friday, April 12th from 5:30 pm to 6:30 PM. Join the Jeudevine Building Committee, the Jeudevine Trustees, the library staff, and NBF Architects to see the design, watch a video about the library, eat hors d'oeuvres and join the efforts for the expansion. The first 50 people will get a six-pack of pansies as a symbol of how this project will help the library and Hardwick grow. See the beautiful quilt that is being raffled and buy raffle tickets at the event.
The expansion project was restarted in April 2018 with a 14-member Building Committee which consisted of 10 community members, 2 staff members and 2 trustees. They met from April through September coming up with a basic design, a desired cost estimate and preferred architects. NBF Architects of Rutland were chosen by the Trustees. NBF came up with a conceptual design and budget. The Trustees appointed a campaign committee to start fundraising and grant seeking, an events committee to lead fundraising events, and design committee to chose furniture, fixtures and equipment. Community members sit on all the committees.
If you can't come to the Kick-off Event, stop by the library at any time to see the plans and talk to the staff. For more information about the project call the library at 472-5948.
