Learn about your backyard woods, wildlife and water with hands-on activities and displays. The Water Wise Woodlands project will be hosting a free pancake breakfast at Twinfield Union School in Marshfield followed by workshops by professional foresters and other experts to share information on how to care for your woodlands and wildlife and protect water resources. Learn about woodlands ecology and what you can do to be a steward of your backyard woods. There will also be activities such as first steps in developing a stewardship or management plan, a tree pruning and apple release workshop, and a tree identification walk. This is a kid-friendly event. This project is sponsored by the Conservation Commissions in Cabot, Marshfield and Plainfield, Central VT Regional Planning Commission, Friends of the Winooski, and VT Forests and Parks.
