Dr. Travis Reynolds, Assistant Professor of Community Development and Applied Economics at the University of Vermont, and UVM graduate student researchers will share their research on the resilience of conventional scale sugaring during sociecological transition.

The research includes (i) economic viability and ecological sustainability in the maple syrup industry; (ii) the roles of social media in supporting a new wave of women farmers; and (iii) the cultural benefits and potential resilience benefits of new crop diversity being introduced in Vermont by immigrant and refugee populations.
