Grow Your Own is hosting a workshop on the topic of seed starting and soil preparation on April 6 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. with Carol Fairbank at the Center for an Agricultural Economy (CAE) in Hardwick. Participants will go home with some seeds they have started. A new crock pot will be raffled at the event. Workshops are free, but people must save a spot by calling the Hardwick Area Food Pantry (HAFP) by April 3 (802) 472-5940. Snacks are provided. Child care and transportation can be arranged if requested in advance. Grow Your Own is a project of the HAFP, CAE and NEK Kids on the Move (Wonder Arts). For more information, contact CAE Community Programs Manager Bethany Dunbar at bethany@hardwickagriculture.org or call HAFP Executive Director Laura Wilkinson at the phone number listed above.
