"Any business's most important asset is its employees"
This workshop is designed to provide an overview for attracting and retaining quality employees. It will explore non-traditional approaches that will set your company apart. Participants will be challenged to think beyond, "I need someone tomorrow!" by applying business practices used to start your company to the hiring of your first (or additional) employees. Included will be a review of your legal responsibilities, recommended documents and interviewing practices. Wondering what questions to ask that engage candidates and provide the information you need? Want to learn how to implement solid practices that lead to hiring the right fit for your company? Ready to change up recruitment? Get registered today!
The workshop presenter is Teresa Miele who has 20+ years of HR experience with her most recent position at Rutland Plywood Corporation. When the company was destroyed by a catastrophic fire it required her to use all of her knowledge and abilities to support employees through the loss of both the company and their jobs. Miele started her own HR consulting company, HR Acquired, LLC and she now supports multiple businesses in a variety of industry sectors.
The workshop will take place on March 20th from 9 am to noon in the Community Center at Green Mountain Technology and Career Center in Hyde Park. The cost to attend is $49 and pre-registration is required. Please visit www.vtsbdc.org and click on TRAINING to register and pre-pay on line or email Vicki Blanchard at dblanchard@vtsbdc.org if you have problems registering.
