Bella Voce Women’s Chorus of Vermont and Dawn Willis, Artistic Director bring you a truly bellissima program of choral works in this special concert with guest artists Michael Dabroski,violin; Edwin Kaplan, violin; Paul Reynolds, viola; and Sarah Mathews, cello. (fun fact: Sarah is a fellow Willistonian and my cousin!) The string quartet will be featured with the chorus in various works including "Dixit Dominus" by Baroque Venetian composer Baldassare Galuppi, "Tundra" by contemporary Norwegian composer Ola Gjeilo, "The Snow" by Edward Elgar and "Ritmo" - an energetic Latin-style piece by Dan Davison. Also on the program: "Lift Thine Eyes" from Felix Mendelssohn’s popular oratorio "Elijah," "O Nata Lux" by Eleanor Daley and other stunning pieces written for women’s voices. The string quartet will also be featured in a performance of Mendelssohn’s "Four Pieces for String Quartet, Opus 81."
