Johnson Conservation Commission presents A Snowshoe Hike at Northern Vermont University on Sunday afternoon.

With all the wildlife sightings in Johnson recently, this could be a good time to catch a glimpse of what resides in some of the public land near the village.

There are miles of trails that wind through the forested and open areas of the Northern Vermont University on the Johnson campus. Members of the Johnson Conservation Commission will lead a moderate snowshoe hike with hopes of seeing animal tracks and wildlife. Based on snow conditions on Sunday, the route will be set and maps provided.

Step off will be at 1:30 PM. Eric Nuse and Noel Dodge will be on-hand to help identify tracks and wildlife.

Parking for the snowshoe will be in the first NVU lot you come to by the intersection of College Hill Road and Pond Road, just below campus housing. There will be a sign. Sponsored by the Johnson Conservation Commission this event is free and open to all. More information at 730-7263.
