Friday, March 15 at 6pm in the Hardwick Elementary School gymnasium, there will be the second meeting to organize the new merged district of Lakeview, Hardwick, and Woodbury elementary schools. Unfortunately, the first meeting was cut short by vocal opponents pushing to postpone the organization of the new district. This merger was not chosen by our boards or our communities, but it is now the law. We gain nothing by delaying the collaboration and decision-making required by this merger. Your school boards have started the process of merging the schools in the most fair and equitable way possible, but this process is currently hampered by this delay. If we are to make the merger as beneficial for our kids as possible, we need to start the process now so that your school boards can continue their work and our students' education is not impacted negatively.
