"A volume of spiritual gems" is how the Detroit Free Press characterized Bob Alper's first collection of heartwarming short stories. He'll be sharing a few of them on Thursday, March 14 at 7 p.m. by the cozy fireside at Manchester Community Library. The presentation was rescheduled from February due to inclement weather.
Bob's two books, Life Doesn't Get Any Better Than This and Thanks. I Needed That, contain nearly 80 separate chapters, many of which find their origin in the Northshire. The old Village Fare Restaurant, the East Dorset General Store, the Loyalty Day Parade, Bromley Mountain and even a local exterminator, among others, are featured.
A full-time stand-up comic, Bob injects a bit of humor into some of his stories, but at heart they are sweet, poignant and inspiring.
The program is free and open to the public. Mulled cider and refreshments will be served. Manchester Community Library is located at 138 Cemetery Ave. in Manchester Center, VT. For more info, please contact the Library at events@mclvt.org or call Cindy at 802-549-4577.
