Colchester residents have the opportunity to hear performances from all the Colchester school district's band and choral ensembles at an upcoming concert on Saturday, March 9 in the Colchester High School gymnasium. The event is free and open to the public.

The band concert will begin at 10:30 am and last about an hour. The choral concert will begin at noon and also last about an hour. There will be a brief break between the two concerts.

Each ensemble will perform one piece at the concert, starting with the fifth graders at Malletts Bay School and moving up through to the high school. The concert showcases the progression of skills, musical talent, and discipline that occurs as students move up through the CSD band and choral programs. At the end of each concert, all the groups will perform a piece together.

LCATV records CSD concerts and DVD order forms will be available at the concerts. DVDs can be ordered for $5 each. Friends of Colchester Music (FCM) will also be selling 50/50 raffle tickets at the March 9 concert. Proceeds will help provide donations of instruments, materials, scholarships and music education programs to all of our schools in Colchester.
