Come on in and join us in the Nightshade Kitchen! Presented in partnership with Foam Brewers and North End Studios, each edition will pair a unique food menu curated from different regional cuisines.
Original sounds from:
Josh Gachette
Josh Gachette plays psychedelic country music. Gachette started writing Pioneers as a sunshine pop album in 2011 drawing inspiration from Laurel Canyon stars like The Byrds and John Phillips -- but years into songwriting the native New Yorker found that the saccharine escapism of sunshine pop was irrelevant, as gentrification pulverized the city's working class enclaves into a new frontier for urban pioneers. Pioneers invokes country & western to draw parallels between urban renewal and colonialism. Pioneers: a country album for the urban frontier.
Chazzy Lake
Trying to make appointments on time.
Pen Palindrome
Pen Palindrome is the solo project of Virginia-native, Ava Mirzadegan. The sweet and earnest songs function as a sort of roadmap for finding joy while experiencing grief and anxiety.
~~~~~
As always, we present this event with the belief that a piece of music is enriched when accompanied by a fine meal, that food is similarly enriched when accompanied by a song. The chefs spoon is stirred with the same care and calculation with which the fingers strum a chord, by which the hand pats the back. Finally, this event is made possible and affordable through resources gathered from our community, the voluntary hard work and support of ordinary people and the respect of all guests.
Our intention is for everyone to come hungry and leave heavy, humming a sweet somethin', drunk off the stars with heads full of love and a hankering to pass it on to others.
