CHS: Cambridge Village Historic Preservation Program

Past event
Mar 13, 2019, 7 to 9 PM

The Cambridge Historical Society's March meeting will be held on Wednesday the 13th, 7 pm, at Warner Lodge,
49 School St., Jeffersonville, VT. The purpose of the meeting is to help the Cambridge Village Historic Preservation Commission gather information to be included in their application to have Cambridge Village listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).

The village preservation Commission was formed in 2018 as the first step in the NRHP application process. Cambridge Village is already on the Vermont Historic Register and has a Village Center Designation from the Department of Housing and Community Development. The Commission is currently working to be awarded Certified Local Government (CLG) designation through the Vermont Department for Historic Preservation. Once that certification is obtained, the Commission will begin the long process of being listed on the National Register.

The CHS March 13th program is primarily for gathering information to be used in applying for NRHP recognition. Do you have historic photographs of Village properties or papers or stories related to the history of the Village? Please come and share your information with the Cambridge Village Historic Preservation Commission and the Cambridge Historical Society.

Refreshments will be served.
