Discover the Japanese art of indigo dying. By using textured molds and wrapping and binding the fabric with objects we imprint intricate patterns onto cotton fabrics. We dip scarves, colored fabrics, t-shirts, napkins etc. into the indigo dye bath numerous times to watch the materials deepen in color. All supplies will be provided including two blank scarves. Bring additional; 100% cotton shirts, fabric and pillowcases etc. if you wish. This class is great for quilters and stitchers who want to create their own fabrics. No previous experience needed.

With artist and teacher Valerie Dearing, Saturday, March 23, 10-4 with one hour lunch break. Held in the basement of the Common House at Bristol Co-Housing, 16 North Street, Bristol. Fee $100. Limit 6.
