Irish Consul General Fionnuala Quinlan will be speaking at the Fletcher Free Library as part of the 2019 Burlington Irish Heritage Festival. Ever wonder why you no longer hear about violence in Northern Ireland? Thank the Good Friday Agreement, made almost 21 years ago. How did peace come about after hundreds and hundreds of years of violence? And what about Brexit? If you are paying attention, you know that one of the biggest sticking points with Brexit is the question of what will happen to the (now fluid) border between the U.K. (includes No.Ireland) and the Republic of Ireland, now both members of the European Union, when the U.K. backs out.
