All are welcome to attend a reception to celebrate the opening of March's art exhibit at the Crowell Gallery in the Moore Free Library, 23 West Street, Newfane. Reception is Saturday, March 2nd 1-3 PM, show runs through March during library open hours.
The Crowell Gallery invites you to take a photographic journey through the Republic of Georgia with Dummerston photographer Stephen Tavella. With sixteen select images, Steve hopes to convey a sense of that which is uniquely Georgian despite Greek, Roman, Arab, Persian, Mongol, Turkish, Russian, Christian, Muslim, eastern and now western invasions and influences spanning over two millennia. Steve has been exploring and photographing landscapes and cultures from around the world since the Peace Corp in the 1980's where he spent four years in the Solomon Islands and the Republic of Kiribati. His most recent work reflects six months in 2016 in the Republic of Georgia where he was strategic management adviser to the peace institute, The International Center for Peace and Integration.
