Learn to make these beautiful Easter Eggs from our own Annie Gaillard at the Jeudevine Library on Wed., March 13 at 7 pm at the Jeudevine Library. A pysanka (Ukrainian: писанка, plural: pysanky) is a Ukrainian Easter egg, decorated with traditional Ukrainian folk designs using a wax-resist method. The word pysanka comes from the verb pysaty, "to write" or "to in scribe", as the designs are not painted on, but written (inscribed) with beeswax. Everyone will get at least one egg to decorate. This program is for adults and limited to ten people. Please call the library at 472-5948 to sign up. (There will be a second program for kids on Sat. April 13 at 2 PM).
